Senior Systems Verification Engineer

Position Summary:

The Senior Systems Verification Engineer is an essential team member for our Advanced Imaging product pipeline, and a key contributor for new product development programs. The Senior Systems Verification Engineer will provide technical leadership and execution for the verification and validation (VV) strategy for the Advanced Imaging system. The individual should have strong interpersonal skills as they will work closely with systems engineering, design and development engineering, clinical engineering, and quality engineering to develop and ensure the testability of requirements, while developing and validating test methods that will demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of the Advanced Imaging system.

Key Responsibilities:

· Act as subsystem verification technical lead, responsible for timely verification of requirements

· Build relationships with cross-functional team members

· Develop and validate test fixtures, methods, and analysis techniques

· Leads the planning, development, and execution of system VV objectives, e.g. test plans, test protocols, test cases, test reports.

· Provides technical leadership and contributes to system VV engineering activities via an indirect authority structure.

· Partners closely with developers and incorporates test planning into design and development phases and is a key contributor to the development of system requirements, architecture, and design.

· Work hands-on in the lab and directly with technicians

· Supports the team in investigations for identifying the root cause of failures and definition and implementation of control measures.

· Assures good documentation practices are followed in the VV process.

Required Experience and Skills:

Education:

· A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or related field is required.

Required:

· Minimum of 6 years of experience in medical device or robotic new product development

· A results and performance driven demeanor with strong sense of accountability

· Broad knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines, for example: firmware, thermal, optical, software, or electrical

· Demonstrated ability to plan and complete large complex tasks requiring multi-disciplinary teams

· Previous experience and proven accomplishments implementing test engineering and Verification Validation (VV).

· Experience crafting test strategies based on requirements, architecture, and design.

· Experience in test design development and validation, including statistical techniques.

· Ability to work hands-on in a lab setting

Preferred Skills:

· Understanding of surgery, surgical procedures, and the design and application of surgical devices, as well as the quality system and regulatory environment.

· Experience developing complex medical capital equipment, most preferably minimally invasive surgical visualization systems.

· Experience with electromechanical fixture development and qualification

· Strong collaboration and communication skills

· MS or higher degree in engineering, physics, or related field

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $104,000 to $166,750. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
