Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for the accounting functions related to the property tax compliance processes. This includes participating in the monthly accounting close process, preparation of recurring monthly journal entries and preparation of general ledger account reconciliations. It requires familiarity with general ledger data analysis and the ability to create monthly data files that reconcile to the general ledger for the company’s co-sourced tax compliance provider. This position will also be responsible for ongoing property tax compliance responsibilities such as the resolution of government notices, review and preparation of property tax returns, tax-related research, and assistance with governmental tax audits. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Staff Accountants to review their work and provide guidance. The candidate will report directly to the Tax Manager. This position requires the ability to work in a team environment and adherence to deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
80% Tax Planning, Accounting, Research, Compliance, and Audit Defense as needed to meet the goals of the Department. May serve as principal contact on one or more projects with governmental officials, outside counsel, and business partners. May lead or participate in special studies to determine tax implications of company operations. May be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely filing of tax returns, and for the accurate statement of accounting reserves, including FAS 109 and FIN 48 where applicable. May serve as liaison between SSC and subsidiary businesses in the US and internationally.10% Participation on cross-functional teams as a subject-matter expert10% Coaching and mentoring of associates in the department

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with general ledger software such as SAP or ERP.Experience with Accounting for Office (AO), and Alteryx preferred. Education: Associate’s degree in accounting, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
