Senior Tax Accountant

SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE:

The Senior Tax Accountant II is primarily responsible for the quarterly and annual tax provision, income tax compliance, and supporting other functions within the tax department. This position will play an active role in the Accounting Department and will work closely with other members of the department to ensure accuracy and completeness of tax items.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare the quarterly and annual tax provision;Assist with the review of the federal and state income tax returns prepared by outside tax firm;Prepare the calculations and assist with the review of quarterly estimated taxes and annual extension filings prepared by outside tax firm;Coordinate all tax payments for estimated taxes, extension payments, tax return payments, etc.;Collaborate with other members of accounting department (Stock Admin, Payroll, AP, SEC reporting, etc.) to ensure completeness of tax analyses;Assist with SOX quarterly and annual requests related to tax;Assist with coordination and review of the federal and California R&D tax credit study prepared by outside tax firm;Prepare quarterly income tax and cash tax forecasts for FP&A;Manage tax calendar to ensure timely filings and paymentsManage tax notices and assist with tax audits; andSpecial projects as needed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education:

BS/BA degree in related discipline and five years of related experience; or,MS/MA degree in related discipline and three year of related experience; or,Equivalent combination of education and experience.CPA candidate/certification preferred.

Experience:

Typically requires a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience.Experience with ASC 740 and corporate income tax compliance

Knowledge/Skills:

General knowledge of income tax principles and theory. Strong analytical and business communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines.Ability to interact cooperatively and work as a team.Demonstrated success in problem solving.Onesource Income Tax software proficiency preferred.Experience with Alteryx software preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this position is $95,000 - $134,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate’s geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors.
