Position Overview: The Senior Tax Accountant is a key role within our accounting team. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely tax returns and providing leadership and guidance to the team. You will need to interface with multiple departments, including legal, finance, and operations, to ensure all state and federal tax laws are in compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and file quarterly and annual federal and state tax returns. Identify and implement strategies to reduce taxes. Manage the tax planning process for both the company and its clients. Assess current and proposed tax laws to evaluate impacts on the company. Research and interpret tax regulations. Lead and train staff on best practices for filing taxes. Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy. Answer questions from clients and colleagues regarding taxes. Evaluate and recommend changes to accounting processes.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field. CPA certification required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Tax Accounting. Excellent understanding of tax laws. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of accounting software and applications. Nice to have: Proficient with tax preparation software.
