Summary
This tax professional will be responsible for preparing taxable income calculations and supporting workpapers for all Federal and state tax-related filings. Responsibilities will also include preparing quarterly income tax estimates, year-end extension calculations, and annual tax provision computations and disclosures. This tax professional will also be responsible for performing tax research, assisting with sales tax, external audits, and providing support as needed for all tax-related controversy matters.
Essential Functions
Perform tasks under limited supervision to support accurate filings and compliance with all tax deadlines, such as Federal and state returns and related disclosures (Forms 5471 and Form 8858), quarterly estimated tax payments, and year-end extension calculations for corporationOversee and support sales and use tax process; Assist with issues pertaining to sales & use, payroll, property tax and international filings as neededAssist with maintaining general ledger entries and perform monthly close responsibilitiesPrepare quarterly reconciliation of tax-related balance sheet accounts and perform detailed analysis of P&L transactionsAssist in the preparation of taxable income calculations and tax accruals for the US & Canada, including schedules to support the annual tax provision and return to provision computationsPrepare tax disclosures in US GAAPManage & support tax related computations and filings for select international jurisdictions (including Canada, Mexico, Columbia, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand)Provide support and assistance for the external financial statement auditAssist with tax registrations and other miscellaneous compliance related filingsResolve Federal, state, and other tax notices as neededMonitor and report on developments in tax legislation; Perform tax research as neededPrepare documentation of procedures and internal controls within the tax function in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley § 404Participate in the execution of corporate strategic initiatives as well as tax planning strategies such as the R&D tax creditPosition Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Advanced degree and/or CPA a plus.
Experience: 2-4 years corporate tax experience. Software experience with AX, Corptax, BNA, and/or CCH a plus.
