The Finance team at Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) provides employees, stakeholders and customers with timely and accurate financial information. The Finance Department is comprised of six teams: Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing, Collections, Payroll and Tax that work closely together to ensure compliance and the financial well-being of the company. ABOUT THE ROLECupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) is seeking a results-driven Senior Tax Analyst who is looking for an exciting opportunity to be a member of our finance team.  The role will contribute significantly to the continued success and growth to our construction business.  The Senior Tax Analyst will have the responsibility of handling a variety of state and local transactional tax filings and assist with special projects as needed.  They will also assist with the gathering of data and filing related returns spanning the Tax Operations, Property, and Gross Receipts Tax disciplines.The successful candidate will possess direct and practical knowledge of transactional taxes and have an in-depth understanding of their respective challenges. Someone with a positive attitude, highly motivated to learn, and a desire to grow within the organization and wants to contribute to a team that will truly appreciate your dedication and hard work, then consider a career at CEI. Preparation of Domestic Indirect Tax Compliance and Reporting.Prepare and review workbooks and documentation for the support of indirect tax filings, including renditions, exemption filings, monthly accruals, and assisting with monthly filings.Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, analysis, and documentation in relation to indirect tax reporting.Oversee indirect tax rates, tax classification, and exemption documentation.Assist with indirect tax audits, including responding to audit queries and information requests.Responsible for update and maintenance of tax notices.Maintain and fortify centralized tax calendar to ensure all filings, due dates, payments are captured accordingly.Prepare tax related journal entries.Compile, prepare, and maintain monthly tax account reconciliations.Compile, research and/or analyze various federal, state and local tax issues.Help design and/or improve controls and current tax processes.Participate in special projects as assigned.Conduct other duties as assigned.Knowledge: A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position. Job Complexity: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.    Supervision: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments. ABOUT YOUExcellent research, comprehension interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required) and Access (preferred).Detailed-oriented self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize, multi-task and adhere to tight timelines.Build and maintain solid work relationships with all levels of staff and management.
