Senior Tax Analyst

Job Title: Senior Tax Analyst

 

Job Summary

The Tax Analyst, Senior position is responsible for supporting the Corporate Taxation group in tax compliance, provision, forecasting, audit defense, tax planning and administrative matters.

 

Responsibility

Assist with quarterly and annual external reporting as it relates to financial statement income tax provisions. Preparation of tax provision working papers including reconciliation of all tax accounts. Assist with Canadian tax filings and reporting including annual corporate tax returns, tax installments, foreign affiliate tax filings, transfer pricing reporting and country by country reporting. Support Taxation Manager in responding to queries from external and government auditors; internal plant accounting managers and external service providers. Assist with compiling data and costing information for the Scientific Research & Experimental Development tax claims that include in excess of 20 manufacturing facilities. Work together with each plant, finance and engineering team to prepare the Scientific Research & Experimental Development taxation claims.

Academic/Educational Requirements

Post-Secondary Education in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent. CPA designation or in progress. CPA Canada In-depth Tax Course or willingness to complete.

Required Skills/Experience

Previous taxation experience considered an asset. Knowledge of financial reporting under IFRS. Prior experience with SR&ED claim preparation considered an asset. Ability to communicate effectively with external and internal stakeholders. Highly analytical. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Able to work in a fast paced environment.
