What you do:
The Senior Tax Analyst is responsible preparing tax income returns, tax provisions, estimated tax payments/extensions and special projects as directed by leadership. Reviewing the work of Tax Analysts and directing and reviewing work of the lntern(s). You will report to the Senior Tax Manager of Allianz of America (AZOA).
Tax Compliance and/or Tax provisions/Audits
• Prepare federal and state income tax returns, estimated payments and extensions with a focus on the state income tax area
• Accurately prepare tax provisions, account reconciliations, and requested data analysis
• Help with inquiries from state and local tax authorities
Data Analysis
• Prepare and review income tax data regarding taxability, reconciliations, correct taxing jurisdictions, asset classification and verify tax rates.
• Assist with research, resolution and responding to tax notices.
• Research several tax issues and document findings.
• Communicate data and findings to tax management and other business partners to drive strategic business decision making.
Process Improvements/Internal Controls/Tax Technology
• Use tax technology/software to prepare and document tax filings and update tax matrices. Help develop and document process improvements and internal controls as required by Allianz. Use Tax Portal in completing due diligence, audit support and internal/extern controls.
• Help with executing on and continuously improve team processes, standards, documentations, and other best practices.
Training/Questions
• Help with training to business partners on income tax regulations/questions related to their respective business. Training other team members.
What you bring:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• 4+ years of experience required including a minimum of 3 years of direct tax experience, preferred state income tax experience
• Strong technical skills in tools (MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint, PowerBI, etc.)
• Experience with or ability to learn software systems such as Corptax
• Excellent communication, client relationship, organization, and collaboration skills
