Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW), one of the world’s leading innovators in material science, is seeking a Federal - Senior Tax Analyst to aide in the expansion of the Company’s Tax Operations group.   This position can be located in Corning, NY or Charlotte, NC and will be reporting to the Federal Tax Manager, Tax Operations.  In this role, the Senior Federal Tax Analyst will primarily be responsible for the preparation and review of US federal tax returns, federal provision and forecast calculations, and tax audit support.  Additionally, the position will also focus on the federal aspects of income tax accounting and reporting.

The Federal - Senior Tax Analyst will also have an important role to play in supporting Corning’s efforts to streamline and automate its tax processes and procedures. The company is in the process of developing and implementing its overall long-range technology strategy, and this individual will be part of the team supporting these efforts.
 

Primary Responsibilities Prepare/review federal income tax returns and workpapers and reconciliations. Assist with the Consolidated federal tax return including compiling statements and completing the e-File process. Calculate and track the tax attributes of domestic entities, including domestic E&P and tax basis. Assist with forecasting the annual effective tax rate (ETR) and cash taxes, primarily as it related to US income tax matters. Assist with the quarterly income tax provision process. Prepare the monthly, quarterly, and year-end federal income tax accounting reconciliations. Maintain and assist with SOX and internal control documentation requirements. Support tax audits by gathering documentation for IDR requests. Support process improvement efforts including automation, workpaper re-design, or enhanced workflows. Assist with tax department projects including tax credits, incentives, and technology driven projects. Experiences/Education - Required Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Finance with 3-5 years’ experience in Finance related area CPA desirable but not required Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point, SharePoint 2-5+ years’ federal income tax work experience. Experiences/Education - Desired Basic knowledge of ASC 740 and related pronouncements preferred Audit or public accounting experience Experience with OneSource, Alteryx, Peoplesoft and/or SAP Skills Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple tasks with varying deadlines Strong organizational skills Confident in decision making ability Ability to interact independently with peers and management Possess excellent communication and analytical skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The range for this position is  $80,842.00   -  $111,159.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
