Job Summary:

The Senior Tax and Consolidation accountant will oversee all sales and use tax activities including reconciliations, audits and providing support for tax workpapers. Responsibility will also include intercompany transactions, reconciliations and developing processes to ensure the accuracy of accounts.

What would you do in this role?

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Responsible for corporate business and sales tax returns.

· Oversee the 3rd party provider that processes the sales tax returns.

· Responsible for providing support for all sales tax audits.

· Provides all support and reconciliations for corporate tax returns.

· Perform tax research as needed and provide recommendations.

· Research individual state requirements and file returns as needed.

· Record intercompany transactions and provide reconciliations to ensure proper recording of intercompany.

· Responsible for census filings and other required filings that are needed.

· Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions.

· Assist in the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.

· Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.

· Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and to identify, research, and analyze accounting issues and recommend solutions/actions.

· Ability and willingness to work on multiple assignments/projects in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines and work extended hours on a periodic basis (year-end, quarterly, monthly closing) as required.

· Professional and self-motivated.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration required.

· Five years or more of related experience required.

· Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.

· Strong understanding of state and local regulations.

· Experience with Avalara tax software desired.

Other Requirements:

· Possess a valid driver’s license.

· Successfully pass a drug screen, credit check and criminal history records check.
