The Senior Tax Associate will be responsible for the preparation and review of partnership and HNW tax returns for clients within the Firm’s Financial Services sector. The individual will also be called upon to carry out tax related research, analysis and writing assignments. The individual will also work closely with partners, managers and clients during all phases of engagements.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for preparing complex Financial Service sector tax returns, including hedge funds, private equity firms, broker-dealers, investment managers, HNW, family office. Review tax returns and projects prepared by Tax Staff, while gaining increasing responsibility within the review process. Perform research, analysis and write up work in connection with planning memoranda, tax issue resolution and tax opinions. Assist in overall staff development and training. Research and consult on various tax engagements. Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities. Utilize tax preparation software to prepare, review and process returns. Interact with managers, partners and clients.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university required. MST or Law Degree a plus. 3+ years of progressive tax compliance experience in a CPA or law firm servicing financial services clients required. CPA license or EA designation a plus. Working knowledge and/or experience with tax compliance for partnership and HNW/family office entities required. Strong research, writing and analytical skills. Overall planning and problem-solving experience. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills. Knowledge of tax software, preferably ProSystem fx. Ability to work additional hours as needed to meet client deliverables.The compensation for this position ranges from $75,000 - $95,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills, and certifications.
