Compensation includes a base salary of $156,200.00 - $260,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Cox Enterprises is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Tax Manager- International Planning/Mergers & Acquisitions with strong technical expertise in M&A and international taxation. This role will lead strategic tax planning and advisory initiatives, focusing on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate transactions for Cox Enterprises and its affiliates.

Key Responsibilities:
Advisory:
Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies and structures for M&A and other corporate transactions.
Lead tax due diligence processes, assessing tax risks, and proposing mitigation strategies.
Provide strategic tax guidance throughout the deal lifecycle, including structuring, negotiation, and transaction execution.
Review and analyze transaction documents to advise on tax implications of deal terms and conditions.
Offer international tax expertise to guide a team of professionals managing outsourced international tax compliance.
Oversee the defense of tax positions during international tax audits.
Tax Research and Analysis:
Stay updated on international tax law changes, regulations, and court rulings impacting corporate transactions.
Conduct thorough tax research and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
Leadership:
Lead and mentor a high-performing team of tax professionals, fostering growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Oversee work outputs and ensure the delivery of high-quality tax advisory services.
Manage relationships with external accounting and legal advisors.
Collaboration and Coordination:
Build strong partnerships with Cox’s strategy and corporate development teams to align tax strategies with business goals.
Collaborate with legal, finance, and cross-functional teams to integrate tax strategies seamlessly into transactions.
Coordinate with tax department stakeholders to efficiently incorporate acquired companies into tax processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 8 years of experience in federal and international taxation with a focus on M&A transactions in a large corporation or public accounting firm.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic approach to complex challenges.
Proven leadership and team management experience, with excellent interpersonal and mentoring abilities.
Exceptional communication skills to articulate complex tax concepts to diverse audiences.
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA certification or master’s degree in taxation, Accounting, or related field.
Experience in public accounting or a large corporate tax environment.
