We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Senior Tax Manager responsible for delivering high quality and effective tax reporting and compliance for ME countries. The role will also include designing, streamlining, implementing and testing tax-related processes in respect of tax compliance and reporting, enhancing data quality to improve efficiency and compliance ensuring processes operate effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax compliance and reporting, process improvement and data analysis, with a passion for leveraging technology to drive results.
Tax Compliance and Reporting:
Lead the design, implementation, testing, and documentation of best practices with regards to processes and templates surrounding tax compliance, reporting, and tax audit management.Responsible for certain ME countries to lead the tax compliance process including timely filing of accurate tax and related returns (income tax, WHT, VAT, Pillar 2, Country-by-Country reporting, Transfer Pricing support data for submissions, etc.).Support the financial reporting process by managing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of current tax, deferred tax, and cash tax payments including forecasts.Assess uncertain tax reporting positions to support the financial reporting process.Process Improvement and StandardizationIdentify and drive continuous improvement opportunities and process and/or systems and tools standardization.Improve processes to analyze transactional data to ensure compliance with tax requirements.Assess and improve the quality, consistency, and integrity of tax-related data.Compliance Monitoring and Risk ManagementMonitoring updates on tax legislative requirements and ensuring processes are in place to meet compliance obligations.Manage process with regard to tax assessments, audits, and inspections.Own the relationship with internal and external tax consultants and drive the overall strategy for addressing tax issues whilst managing risk.Stakeholder Management and Collaboration:
Develop strong working relationships with multiple teams in finance operations and other key stakeholders to ensure accurate tax return reporting.Support the Global Tax Team on ad-hoc initiatives and analysis.Training and DevelopmentDevelop and provide training to end-users - workshops, lessons learned sessions, and refresher programs related to the processes implemented.Manage subordinates ensuring their career development and coaching.Project Management:
Follow up on all projects/initiatives, identify risks and obstacles to meet deadlines, propose solutions, and provide updates and progress reports.Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Fully qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CPA Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax with specific experience of process improvement.Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements, liaising with tax authorities, responding to tax audits and information requests.Experience of evaluating and managing tax risk and compliance issues, developing strategies to mitigate such risks.Experience of implementing processes and controls to manage tax risk preferably with the use of technology (e.g., SharePoint, Power Queries, Alteryx, Power BI etc).Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools.Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle.Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.Ability to build relationships in a multi-cultural environment, interacting with multiple stakeholders with teams across multiple locations;Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
