Senior Tax Technology Specialist

Dow has an exciting opportunity as Senior Tax Technology Specialist, located in Sao Paulo (BRA) or Buenos Aires (ARG).

About you and this role:

The skilled professional will be responsible to analyze and resolve complex problems, examine information from multiple sources, and use judgement to evaluate established and new solutions. May lead projects with manageable risks and resource requirements as well as serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues. The performance of this role impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within the own team and other related teams and requires to work within established guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage projects for tax in LAA countries, focusing on tax compliance, time-saving, risk prevention, and identifying key areas for improvement.

Understand the LAA work processes that trigger Tax determination, like Purchasing, Planning and Order to Cash.

Understand the Indirect Tax laws of the respective countries for which the SME is accountable.

Proficient in the technical landscape, being ECC, Reporting, Thomson Reuters Indirect Tax determination and Compliance.

Serve as a liaison between Tax, Source to Pay, Invoice to Cash, Accounting, Financial Consolidations, and Information Technology departments to improve the understanding of the tax department’s technology needs.

Responsible to create testing scenarios and perform/lead testing for new configuration and system updates to ensure proper tax determination.

Collect business needs and translate them into overall system Setup and configurations (SAP/Alteryx/SharePoint, etc).

Create functional designs and documentation for system design.

Work with key people (internally and externally) to understand specific needs that may be required for a project.

Develop functional and technical requirements documents. 

Assist the tax technology team, overseeing the day-to-day tasks, and also acting as an informal mentor who provides guidance and directions.

Provide ongoing support for post-go-live activities.

Update and control tax dashboards monthly.

Help attending the Tax Audit Team.

May perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Law, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.

5+ years of relevant industry experience.

Fluent English Skills.

Strong software skills and knowledge of SAP, Windows applications.

Ability to influence and demonstrate informal leadership, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.

Experience in Tax Technology is a plus.

Experience in solving business problems with technology/software is advantageous.

Experience with Power Query and building Power BI Dashboards is a plus.

Experience with automation tools (e.g., Alteryx, Python, RPA) is a plus.

Having expertise in AI solutions is an advantage.
