Senior Team Leader, Site Merchandising & Selection
Job Description The Senior Team Leader of Site Merchandising and Selection leads a team responsible for identifying what products align with Whole Foods Market’s e-commerce channel strategies, crafting recommendations for selection expansion and rationalization within the WFM e-commerce channel ecosystem, and advancing the Whole Foods Market brand and customer experience through the elevated presentation of the products we sell on our e-commerce channels. The team owns the definition of strategy and programs to maximize revenue, inspire basket building, drive priority product trial, and facilitate the online shopping experience. The Senior Team Leader partners with e-commerce senior leadership to provide thought leadership to drive the evolution of grocery ecommerce across Whole Foods Market and Amazon. Reports to the Executive Leader of E-Commerce Selection, Site Merchandising, Catalog and Inventory, and leads a team of nine Team Members. This role is based in Austin, TX, with an expectation of being in the Store Support office five days a week. Responsibilities: + Responsible for holistic e-commerce selection and site merchandising strategy across the full suite of existing Whole Foods Market e-commerce channels and future channels to be defined. + Recommends strategic adjustments to site selection and CX strategy based on program effectiveness, channel performance, customer feedback, anticipated direction, and identified challenges and trends. + Partners with Product and UX teams to build new experiences and features that support easy basket building and WFM’s differentiation; provides and informs business and customer experience requirements. + P artners with Merchant, Category Marketing and other leadership stakeholders to craft complementary online and in-store selection and merchandising strategies, supplier co-op, and promotion strategies. + Develops key performance metrics, goals, and reporting expectations; leverages performance data and customer insights to make data-driven changes and improvements in overall ecommerce business and digital merchandising programs. + Supports team activity to ensure deliverables remain high quality, on time and on schedule. + Works closely with creative teams to ensure site merchandising and product detail creative is aligned with overall ecommerce strategy. + Leads TM on-boarding, training and development and performance within cross functional e-commerce programs Skills: + Proven ability to lead and inspire a team. + Strong understanding of e-commerce and retail strategy, planning, and execution. + Strong quantitative and financial analysis skills, and written and verbal communication skills. + Regularly interacts with colleagues or partners up to the senior leadership level. + Expert ability to plan, estimate, organize, and monitor projects. + Proven ability to build cross-functional partnerships and inspire collaboration and action in the absence of a ‘direct report’ relationship. + Ability to juggle multiple projects while maintaining a clear sense of priorities. + Able to impart focus by developing clear goals. + Leverages customer, market, and industry understanding to drive program-related decisions and recommendations. + Demonstrates knowledge of the WFM product mix, supply base, and retail operations. Education & Experience: + BA/BS degree and 6-8+ years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. + Graduate degree preferred. + 2-4+ years' leadership experience .
