Position Summary:

Manages a large or strategically significant Werfen Production, Distribution, Warehouse or Facilities function.  Team may include employees with either single or multiple skill sets.  Provides direction and support for team ensuring that team performance aligns with plant goals.  Generally manages groups with diverse activities and responsibilities.  Works independently in all areas of responsibility.

Key Accountabilities

Essential Functions:

Works with buyer/planner, develops daily schedules for areas of responsibility to conform with monthly requirements defined by master scheduler/Plant requirements.Manages resources to accomplish established goals of quality, quantity and cost.Interfaces effectively with other Team Leaders to allocate resources between teams, as needed.Ensures compliance with all company safety, health, GMP and ISO standards.Ensures that operating budget and capital budget for areas of responsibility are prepared accurately and on schedule.Reviews monthly team/departmental financial reports to ensure that spending is within budget and provides corrective action and explanations as needed.Ensures that team is appropriately staffed with trained employees and that equipment is maintained and operated efficiently.Establishes strategies for areas of responsibility that complement plant and ISO objectives.  Continuously analyzes operations in an effort to reduce costs and improve quality. Communicates effectively with subordinates, peers and supervisor.Prepares and submits an accurate, timely monthly report.Works well with other Team Leaders to ensure that plant objectives are met.Complete performance reviews in a timely manner.Review and approve recommendations of subordinates in matters of reviews, internal transfers, promotions, disciplinary action, etc. Sets a personal example of behavior and commitment to company and plant objectives.Trains and mentors the Group leaders and possibly fellow Team leaders. Provides short and mid-term analysis for areas of responsibility (equipment, facilities etc.) Creates and maintains measurements for the team's performance (Daily/monthly goals, inventory accuracy, backorders, etc.) Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:

Bachelor's degree or a certification from a related field, or equivalentMinimum 7 years in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 5 years supervision.
