SUMMARY

Arcticom, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a qualified  In-Country (Togo)Senior Technical Lead Trainer - UN Military Peacekeeping-Intelligence (MPKI) Staff for an international peacekeeping support contract that relies heavily on U.S. military, infantry training skills and contracted subject matter experts to provide training and assistance.  The Senior Technical Lead Trainers will provide strategy, managerial, and administrative support to the Program Manager and In-Country Team Lead  to fulfill the contract objectives.

This position may require travel to and within countries with security, health, and other potentially dangerous conditions.

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

 

The Senior Technical Lead Trainer shall have a Minimum of ten (10) years of U.S. or NATO military experience; must include combat arms battalion/brigade staff officer experience on a U.S. or NATO military staff. [Combat arms is defined as armor, cavalry, engineer, field artillery, infantry, special forces, or special operations forces. Staff officer experience is defined as a primary staff officer assignment on a U.S. or NATO battalion or brigade staff; O3 non-primary staff officer time on a U.S. or NATO battalion staff or O4 non-primary staff officer time on a U.S. or NATO brigade staff will be considered with detailed evidence of that candidate’s active performance and participation in integrated battalion/brigade planning and operations, particularly performing those duties while deployed to a peacekeeping, combat, or other contingency operation.]

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Attainment of military grade of O3 and higher (or NATO equivalent).Relevant military operations or foreign security force (police or military) capacity building experience in the last 5 years.Experience as a senior trainer, military or civilian, to a foreign security partner.Battalion and/or brigade staff experience while deployed to a combat, peacekeeping, or other contingency operation

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Minimum of fifteen (15) cumulative years of U.S. or NATO military experience, including combat arms battalion/brigade staff officer experience on a U.S. or NATO military staff. Attainment of military grade of O4 and higher (or NATO equivalent). Regional experience in Sub-Saharan Africa.

DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS

This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is self-managed and works at the direction of the government and is directly related to the business operation supporting the customer’s objectives.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
