Position Description With only occasional guidance needed from the Sr. Program Manager or Director, serve as the primary subject matter expert for digital domain technologies in the shipbuilding and heavy manufacturing industries. Provide technical expertise and leadership for technical projects to accomplish program goals within cost and schedule guidelines. Exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance to the business. Essential Functions: Relied upon subject matter expert in “digital domain” technologies and their application to shipbuilding and heavy manufacturing. This encompasses model-based tools/processes and approaches to optimize producibility in a digital manufacturing ecosystem (i.e. Digital Twin, Digital Thread, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Digital Modeling, Digital Simulation) Responsible for the planning and execution of program/project technical meetings. Proposes, participates in, develops, directs, and executes technical research and development projects. Provides collaborative leadership, facilitation and interface among supported customers / government clients, vendors and users Serves as primary point of contact for information regarding the application of “digital domain” technology. Oversee & ensure technology transfer has completed. Facilitates project technical presentations and debriefs. Leads / facilitates and directs and manages initiatives specific to developing and evaluating digital domain technology. Performs literature research to continually mature working knowledge of technical subjects in support of project research and problem solving Lead efforts with the project team to coordinate technology transfers/transitions for projects assigned Work in conjunction with technology experts to build and develop solutions to technical issues, and then develop scopes of work Lead efforts with the project team to provide technical expertise to the division lead and the technical management of the projects Performs as primary Technical Advisor and Subject Matter Expert in the area of “digital domain” to customers and as representatives on their behalf Additional Responsibilities: As required, conducts internal and external technical briefings. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: + PhD and two years’ applicable experience; or Master’s degree and six years applicable experience; or Bachelor’s degree and eight years’ applicable experience, which should include planning and performance of technical programs and projects. Degree in Engineering, Science or a related field preferred. + Working knowledge of technology applications, practices and standards specific to the business unit, as well as experience in technical program management. + Experience in Department of Defense, and other government programs, desirable. + Experience in Shipbuilding or Heavy manufacturing is highly desirable. + Independent, self-directed worker, team player, problem solver and experienced leader. + Excellent communication skills, including presentations, technical reports, meeting management and work group management. + Strong computer skills including Excel skills, MS Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project desired. MS Access experience a plus. + This position is subject to a background check that includes a review of criminal records.
