Job DescriptionPCG is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Trainer for its Corporate Information Technology department based in Lenexa, Kansas.
The Technical Training team is on a mission to drive application adoption and elevate the utilization of technology across the organization. We support the Business by helping employees use the technology available to increase productivity and improve their day-to-day lives. This includes introducing new applications, sharing updates and changes to existing tools, and providing resources that enable employees to build their technical knowledge and skills throughout their Ownership at PCG. We own the creation, delivery, and maintenance of technical training content throughout the lifecycle of use. We work in parallel with Agile software development teams to advocate for learner needs throughout the project and develop support resources, setting employees up for success on Day 1. We also work hand-in-hand with Application Support and the Service Desk to ensure we can provide resources that proactively answer questions employees may have when they reach out.
Core Responsibilities:
Model best practices in Information SecurityConduct research to build and maintain a level of expertise in core technology, IT applications, and business strategiesBuild relationships throughout the organization to identify and address gaps in user trainingDevelop effective training presentations, tutorials, instructor and student guides, practice activities, assessments, and evaluations in varied formatsCreate, review, and update resource materials as indicated by user feedback, application updates, and stakeholder requestsFacilitate live, instructor-led training sessions with groups or individuals in a variety of settings (in-person, on-site, virtual)Maintain and communicate training schedules with end users and stakeholdersSupport strategic project planning, including needs analysis, during the project kick-offAssist technical managers, IT developers, and specialists in conveying complex technical concepts and business/data workflows to non-technical audiences Collect and maintain training data to measure training engagement and effectiveness and to support department key performance indicatorsCoordinate external vendor-provided training with end users RequirementsBasic Requirements:
College degree in Education, Organizational Development, or IT-related field preferred2+ years of experience using content authoring tools (Articulate 360, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.)5+ years of experience designing, creating, and delivering technical training solutionsAble and excited to travel up to 50% annuallyAble to work on-site full-time (1 day/week remote after 90 days)Self-motivated to deliver consistent results and seeks to support teammates in accomplishing team goalsExceptional oral and written communication skills; with experience in creating and delivering technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences at all organizational levelsExpert-level mastery working in Microsoft 365 productivity applications, SharePoint, and content authoring toolApplies adult learning theory, instructional design principles, and business acumen to ensure learning activities are relevant and reasonable within the context of stakeholder needsDemonstrates effective customer service and consultation skills when partnering with stakeholders across the organizationUnderstands software delivery methodology, emerging cloud technologies, and DevOps principlesHas a passion for continuous learning and conducts independent research to identify new workplace technologies, learning and development trends, and credible content to share with team members and learnerThinks creatively and explores innovative training solutionsGives, receives, and applies feedback constructively and professionallyStrives to support a collaborative and inclusive culture through humility and empathyPreferred Requirements:
