Actalent Services is hiring a Senior Technical Writer for a permanent role leading and writing technical proposals in support of our engineering services business opportunities. This individual will work closely with internal Actalent partners including software engineering subject matter experts, finance partners, business development managers and marketing teams. Success in this role requires this individual to take the lead in ensuring all necessary materials and content are compiled, presentable, accurate and reflective of Actalent's internal capabilities. Core responsibilities include writing and editing comprehensive technical solution details, including methodologies, technical concepts, standards applied, risk management, project management, technology considerations, examples of previous projects, employee credentials, and top-level solutions. The individual will support Actalent's internal engineering delivery teams across the entire business acquisition and proposal development processes.
This role offers remote flexibility to individuals located in the greater Chicago area.
Core Responsibilities:
Create, collect, write, and edit technical inputs from internal Actalent resources and present/share to Business Development and Engineering Leaders prior to former submittals.Collect, write, and edit and standardize relevant project examples and case studies.Format personnel profiles and resumes.Organize technical inputs and coordinate with the proposal team on assigned tasks.Interface between the engineering delivery teams and other stakeholders on technical content.Grasp complex solutions quickly and explain them to both technical and non-technical audiences.Review and provide quality assurance for work products prior to submission.Maintain quality results by using templates, following standards, and ensuring readability, consistency, and appropriate tone.Ensure cross-functional team is meeting deadlines for content development.Minimum Abilities, Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum 6 years of professional experience as technical writer or proposal writer responsible for developing technical content for large proposals or statements of qualifications.Proven experience leading proposal development with ability to pull cross-functional project members together and hold accountable to meet deadlines within submittal process.Experience writing proposals for clients in the Utilities, Aerospace or Advanced Manufacturing industries highly desired.Experience working directly with Subject Matter Experts, writing first draft technical content, and refining technical documentation.Above-average writing, editing, and proofreading skills.Deadline-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.Strong attention to detail and compliance requirements.Extensive experience with MS Office Suite and Adobe.Ability to understand highly technical concepts and articulate them to various audiences and leadership levels.Ability to receive constructive and collaborative feedback and work with others to improve technical content representative of Actalent.Ability to work independently and in a virtual team environment.Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project. The pay range for this position is $61000.00 - $114000.00/yr.
