We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team. The technical writer will help with assisting in updating and documenting standard operating procedures. This role is crucial for ensuring that documentation meets the highest standard of clarity and precision, facilitating effective communication across the organization. You will be responsible for auditing the current state knowledge management content and ensuring accurate, consistent, and easy to use documents.

The successful candidate will collaborate with technical staff, ensuring that existing documentation is updated and new materials are created when necessary. The ideal candidate will have experience with policies and procedures and excellent communication skills (written & verbal).

As our Senior Technical Writer, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

 

Leading discussions with team members and SMEs to identify required deliverables, ensuring timely and accurate end-user documentation for project releases Collaborating with team members and SMEs to produce relevant and accurate documentation that meets stakeholder expectations, compliance requirements, and procedural guidelines Updating user guides, manuals, and other publications to reflect changes in software, CA applications, and operational policies Interpreting product requirements and functional specifications to create product-specific and procedural documentation Managing all aspects of document production, including writing/editing content, creating graphics, updating indices, and publishing in appropriate formats Maintaining a schedule for ongoing reviews, maintenance, and updates to existing documentation Adhere to Technical Publications standards and guidelines to ensure consistency with company style guides

Ability to engage in technical discussions and understand complex technical concepts Experience generating PDF and HTML online help deliverables Proficiency with defect tracking systems (e.g., JIRA) and source version control applications (e.g., Git) Clear understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and methodologies, including Agile Experience in SAFe Agile project management is preferred Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy Experience creating instructional documentation for both technical and non-technical users Ability to analyze explicit and implicit product requirements and determine the appropriate ways to address documentation needs Ability to research, plan, and execute tasks with minimal supervision Demonstrate ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and meet deadlines Establish and maintain a manageable schedule for ongoing reviews, maintenance, and updates to existing documentation Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint Ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, and processes as they evolve Hands-on experience with the product to ensure accurate and relevant documentation

 

Your Experience and Education include:   

          

3-6 years’ experience in professional/technical writing, editing, and researching process documentation with computer security or related fields B. A. in English, Journalism, Communications, computer information systems, or related fields preferred; commensurate experience will be considered Proven experience as a Technical Writer or in a similar role Ability to understand and interpret contractual or policy documents
