Job Description SummaryAs the Senior Technician, you will perform diverse and complex assignments in support of GEHC PCS Repair operation. Assignments may include but are not limited to: diagnose and perform repairs and planned maintenance (PM) on progressively complex biomedical equipment. Fabrication and assembly of fixtures and equipment, set up and running of data acquisition equipment for tests, carrying out experiments, reporting/documenting results of tests and measures, lead compliance and quality activities and train other team members.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Evaluate complex, biomedical equipment issues, and implement appropriate repairs.

Perform planned maintenance (PM), safety and environmental inspections, and FMI implementations.

Follow and guide others as needed regarding appropriate GE policies, procedures, and complete necessary documentation.

Effectively communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues.

Establish and engage in proactive daily communications with Team, to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.

Document all repair actions and submit reports/summaries according to schedule.

Ensure proper care of tools and test equipment and ensure calibration.

Order and maintain approved parts inventory.

Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction.

Comply with EHS regulations and policies.

Utilize initiative and independent judgment, construct and assist in evaluating engineering models.

Perform advanced trouble shooting encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution. Conduct experiments and diagnostic tests, as required to draw conclusions.

Provide timely resolution on customer impacting issues.

Provide evaluation, constructive feedback and leadership in the development of internal and external engineering, manufacturing, or service documentation.

Manage project-based task around customer satisfaction and compliance efficiently and with accuracy.

Facilitate project generation by other team members and drive execution.

Identify required trainings and complete all trainings on time.

Provide strong individual contributions in the context of achieving team goals.  Provide technical leadership by assisting others in troubleshooting, answering questions and seeking engineering assistance.

Lead compliance and quality activities by looking for defect trends, learning about quality issues and concessions and passing information to other technicians. Serve as the manufacturing expert on new product introductions by providing feedback to engineering and manufacturing personnel as new products are developed, and new procedures are implemented.

Support Repair operations as needed.

 

Required Qualifications

Associates degree and 5+ years technical experience, or a High School Diploma and 7+ years experience.

Proficiency to logically troubleshoot at subsystem and system level, using identifiable problem solving techniques.

Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and assist with corrections to the existing design or process.

Proficiency to understand and interpret basic written technical information.

Demonstrated ability to work well with limited direction and information.

Demonstrated ongoing effort to maintain knowledge of current technology.

Demonstrated technical leadership ability.

Customer communication experience.   

 

Desired Characteristics

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or Technology related fields.
