Job Description
The Sr. Technologist role focuses primarily on daily maintenance reviews, with responsibilities split between 75% document review and 25% instrument checking. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of quality and technical competence, enabling them to work independently, handle complex technical issues, perform final review of results, and prepare complex test interpretations and reports.
Responsibilities
+ Organize processes around the customer, addressing difficult and sensitive issues to meet their needs.
+ Manage customer service expectations, balancing customer needs with organizational goals.
+ Seek ideas and input from colleagues to utilize expertise and improve performance.
+ Share knowledge, experience, and expertise with team members.
+ Work to achieve consensus and collaborate with colleagues and other departments to achieve common goals.
+ Apply substantial job knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
+ Ensure on-time delivery of own work and assist other staff in understanding the importance of timely delivery.
+ May coach or mentor junior team members but has no direct supervisory responsibility.
+ Serve as interim Team Lead if needed.
+ Resolve varied and nonroutine problems using basic problem-solving techniques.
+ Identify and implement solutions to adjust or improve existing processes, procedures, and tools.
+ Objectively review work problems and obtain cooperation or approval for solutions.
+ Initiate and resolve issues regarding patient/donor safety and compliance.
+ Receive minimal instruction on daily work and general guidance on new assignments.
+ Possess broad or specialized knowledge acquired through training or practical work experience.
Required Skills
+ 4 years of experience in human biological testing
+ Ability to work independently with supervisor staff on call and not physically present in the building.
+ High attention to detail.
+ Broad or specialized knowledge of laboratory methods, techniques, and processes.
+ Experience in laboratory, blood bank, biology, lab tech, MLT, ASCP, medical laboratory, medical technology, med tech, microbiology, clinical laboratory, hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, quality control, and coagulation.
+ ASCP certification.
+ Degree in Medical Technology, biological, or chemical science from an accredited university or college (4-year degree).
+ Completion of 16 hours of chemistry, 16 hours of biology, and 6 hours of math.

The position operates within lab operations, providing access to a desk area for document review. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00
