Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technology Leader to join our team located in Houston, TX or Midland, MI!
About You and this Role:
You will be pivotal in proactively identifying and implementing emerging technologies by leading teams to develop and launch cutting-edge products or services, staying abreast of industry trends, and collaborating with various departments to drive business growth through technological advancements to ensure Dow remains competitive and adaptable in the face of evolving technological landscapes. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise, a proven track record of bringing new ideas to life, a strong business and functional acumen, strong collaboration, influencing and communication skills. This role does not include people responsibilities.Responsibilities:
Technology Visioning & Innovation: Advocate for the adoption of emerging technologies and best practices across the organization. Conduct in-depth analysis of emerging technologies like AI, cloud computing, blockchain, IoT, and AR/VR to identify potential applications and assess their impact on the organization's business strategy. Shape and lead pilots in new and strategic areas, ensuring alignment with digital transformation goals and driving successful outcomes.Technology Strategy & Implementation: Develop and implement strategic technology roadmaps with a strong emphasis on medium to long-term disruptive technology focused on innovation to give Dow a competitive advantage and aligned with the company's overarching digital transformation strategies.Innovation Leadership: Champion a culture of innovation by encouraging experimentation with new technologies, fostering cross-functional collaboration between technical and business teams to identify and develop innovative solutions. Lead by example, develop actively, and get hands-on to bring an idea to life.Thought Leadership: Consistently publish new articles, white papers, and position statements to share insights and thought leadership on emerging technologies and industry trends. Demonstrate the organization’s commitment to being at the forefront of technological advancements and its dedication to continuous learning and growth.Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams, vendors, external partners, industry experts to integrate technology solutions that meet business needs.Talent Development: Identify and recruit top tech talent with future-oriented skills, while providing ongoing training and upskilling opportunities for existing teams to stay abreast of emerging technologies. Coach and mentor younger team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred or minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience or relevant military experience at a U.S. E6 rank or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher.A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.A minimum requirement for this US-based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.Your Skills:
