Our focus on combatting climate change through clean energy technology, our new net zero climate vision for 2030 and enhanced commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; and supporting the communities we serve make this a particularly exciting time to join PSEG. **Union Local** IBEWE 94 **Summary** None Noted **Job Duties & Responsibilities** **_Duties:_** + Perform assigned supervisory duties. + Act as a leader of assigned group and assign, coordinate, follow up, and check work. + Assist supervisors in development of all new test methods, and procedures and computer applications. + Conduct assigned work so that personnel and the public are safeguarded at all times. + In the field or in the Laboratory make tests, investigations, and evaluations of data related to the work where the exercise of independent judgment is required to interpret results, reach conclusions or form recommendations usually in the areas where methods and practices are not well established. + Carry outassigned research studies. + Write reports of tests and investigations requiring discussion and interpretation of results and form recommendations. + Arrange, conduct, and coordinate joint test programs related to the work to establish the validity of methods and results, or the suitability of equipment. + Cooperate with other departments and persons outside the Company so that test arrangements, field surveys, and schedules are properly coordinated. + Perform other similar or less skilled work of the occupational group. + The following duty is to be included for employees assigned on a permanent or temporary basis to perform work at the Laboratory Facility located at the Nuclear Business Unit. + Perform other less skilled work of all the occupational groups of the Island Laboratory Facility or of the Laboratory. **Years of Experience** 2 years of experience **Job Qualifications** **_QUALIFICATIONS:_** Must meet the Company's "General Requirements"; must have all the qualifications of Test Engineer, and, in addition: + Must have had at least two years' experience as Test Engineer or the equivalent. + Must have a technical background equivalent to a B.S. degree in engineering from a recognized technical school, college or university. + Must have a thorough working knowledge of the theory, application, and operation of all instruments, apparatus, test equipment, computers, and test procedures used in the work. + Must be resourceful and capable of exercising good judgment. + Must have the ability to supervise the work of others. + Must have the ability to exercise good judgment in the handling and coordinating of the work of others. + Must be cooperative and be able to command the respect and the confidence of associates. + Must be able to exercise tact and diplomacy when representing the Laboratory. + Must possess the skill and knowledge necessary for certification(s) to the required level in all pertinent test disciplines. + Must meet all training required in order to perform the duties of the position such as unescorted access to vital areas in nuclear plants. + Must have demonstrated good communication skills. **Education** Bachelor’s in Engineering **Licenses or Certifications** None Noted **Training and Courses** None Noted If you are a current PSEG employee and if you are offered an opportunity with PSEG Long Island, you will be treated as a new hire.
