Senior Test Technician
Sr. Test Technician

Job Description

This is a skilled position requiring experience and expertise with machine assembly procedures, instrumentation, and test equipment. The role involves supporting test operations by setting up fixtures, components, and machines for engineering tests in the development or evaluation of components, systems, and total machines. The candidate will also participate in the construction and maintenance of test roads and facilities, assisting with as many as 50 major test programs per year.

ResponsibilitiesAssemble and disassemble machine components for evaluation purposes.Fabricate and assemble machine and test fixtures.Apply strain gages for performing structural tests.Teardown, inspect, and rebuild test components and machine components from test programs.Perform standard tests on machines and components.Communicate with customers, employees, and vendors in a businesslike manner.Perform all duties to acceptable standards of performance.Operate haul trucks, loaders, dozers, graders, and other equipment.Weld as needed.Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems using schematics.Travel and work supervised or unsupervised in remote locations.Perform additional reasonable duties as required.Essential SkillsMechanical skills.Experience with test equipment.Electrical knowledge.Diesel engine expertise.Ability to assemble and disassemble machine components.Experience in fabricating and assembling machine and test fixtures.Strong mechanical aptitude for equipment repair and component changes.Knowledge of wiring harnesses, structural parts, control cabinets, wheel motors, tires, etc.Knowledge of schematics for troubleshooting.Ability to weld.Ability to travel and work in remote locations.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent knowledge and experience.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a mechanical setting, preferably in construction or mining maintenance.Ability to operate various heavy equipment.Work Environment

The position involves working outside on large mining trucks, providing valuable experience. The role requires ordinary ambulatory skills and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift or move weights up to 50 pounds. Good hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and visual acuity are necessary. The work environment includes sitting, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and hearing.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
