Senior Testing Technician Lead

Position Summary

Thales is looking for a Senior Testing Technician Lead, who will be responsible for performing acceptance testing and diagnostic troubleshooting on electronic and RF-based equipment.

In this position, you will be performing system integration for final system testing as well as acceptance testing and diagnostic troubleshooting on stand-alone electronic and RF-based equipment.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Assumes full responsibility of acceptance testing activities for one or more product lines per released procedures. Reports periodically to manager about product line(s) manufacturing status (progress of activities, issues, root cause analysis, recovery actions, etc.).Coordinates with peers the allocation of tasks and activities that shall support the product line(s). Actively works to plan, execute and monitor activities for the product line(s).Adapts to different test levels from lower level assemblies (Digital, Analog and RF) to box and system level.Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans from Engineering to perform routine testing, check-out and troubleshooting functions. Performs routine operational tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment to ensure conformance with final product specifications.Calibrate and align RF and digital circuit as required per Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP). Diagnoses and isolates malfunctions down to component level and conducts repairs if instructed.Conducts defined tests and collects data as assigned. Performs final verification of product and paperwork associate with the final product.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of two (5) years of technical or vocational education in electronics and communications, and at least four+ (4+) years of relevant work experience in electronic testing, diagnostics, fault isolation, troubleshooting, calibration, integration testing, final product verification and documentation.Must be able to read and understand electronic schematics and mechanical blue prints. Great with numbers, detail oriented and strong organizational skills.Possess analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to apply logic and applied theory to resolve problems, and have the patience to find resolutions to complex issue. Self-motivated, critical thinker with strong technical background. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects in a deadline driven environment Prior experience providing on-the-job training to peers and colleagues.Ability to track and report status on set schedules. Able to work with PCs and applications such as MS Windows suite and other related software.  IPC or J STD solder certification.Must be a US Person as defined in applicable law.

Special Position Requirements

Schedule: In Thales Facilities – Standard 5-day/40-hour workweek –or- 9/80 Alternate Work Schedule available with flexible start/stop times dependent upon assignment volume.Physical Environment: In Thales Facilities – Will access to specialized work areas, e.g. manufacturing/production area, R&D lab, warehouse.Travel: Travel may be required on occasion, anticipated to be less than 5% domestic travel annually.
