What You’ll Be Doing

The Senior Trade Finance Analyst is a senior specialist role, responsible for the Documentary Credits and/ or Documentary Collection products. As a subject matter expert, you will be an integral member of a dynamic, hardworking, production focused team dedicated to the success of CIBC Trade clients on a global basis.  The role is located in Montreal and works closely with internal partners in Capital Markets, Commercial Banking, Small Business Banking and Retail Banking.

Ability to work independently in a private and quiet workspace (ie. in a room or office with a door that closes)

Wired Internet connection capable of continuously supporting excellent call quality and high-speed response rate (internet connection can be connected to modem through hard cable (not wireless) with a minimum download speed of 15 mbps and upload speed of 10 mbps)

Satellite Internet providers are prohibited and cannot be used due to the impact on call quality and the stability of service.

How You’ll Succeed

Demonstrate a keen understanding of Documentary Credits (Exports & Imports) and Documentary Collections and associated ICC Rules and Regulations i.e. UCP600 and URC522. Nice to have good knowledge of Standby LCs and Guarantees.

Master all aspects of the internal technology platforms i.e. Trade360 and adhere to the documented operational procedures and regulatory standards.

Contribute to ad hoc projects as assigned; this is a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to multi-task while maintaining a professional demeaner in support of CIBC’s stated values of Trust, Teamwork and Accountability. Ability to work independently with minimal direction

Demonstrate excellent listening, communication and problem-solving skills.  Ability to communicate in French and English, both orally and in writing is a MUST.

Industry recognized certifications are recognized and supported; Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) &/or Certificate in International Trade & Finance (CITF).

You can demonstrate a minimum 3+ years’ experience in Trade Finance Operations role in a reputable Financial institution specifically handling Documentary Credits and Documentary Collections.

You're fluent in French and English to serve our clients in the community.
