Senior Traffic Control Specialist

Under the direction of Transportation Management, the Senior Traffic Control Specialist is responsible for directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic, transporting passengers via commercial and VIP vehicles, and valet attendant duties. The Senior Traffic Control Specialist is also responsible for assisting leadership with the day-to-day shift operations of the Transportation department to ensure a seamless best-in-class service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Monitors and directs all vehicle movement to minimize congestion to ensure successful traffic flow operations in parking structures and roadways. Efficiently directs, regulates, and prioritizes traffic movement to minimize delays while warning of hazards, using signs, flags, and hand signals. Monitors traffic flow identifying bottlenecks to mitigate vehicle obstructions while locating safe intervals through which vehicles and pedestrians can safely drive/cross roadways. Communicates occupancy, safety hazards, and congestion levels to leadership. Follows safety rules and regulations on, including placing signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices.

2. Adheres to Valet operational protocols while assigned to attendant duties. Operates all guest and company vehicles following California vehicle code governing operations. Delivers best in Class service following company service standards ensuring guest satisfaction.

3. Adheres to all California State and Federal transportation rules and regulations that govern passenger carriers.  Exercises maximum regard for safety and welfare of all transported guests while operating shuttle.  Completes daily pre trip/post trip vehicle safety inspections (Daily Vehicle Inspection Report), ensuring shuttle meets safety regulations to transport guests.  Reports any condition of concern to management regarding vehicle issues/defects that may affect driver and passenger/guest safety.  Complies with state and federal traffic and transit regulations.  Provides management with accurate and up-to-date information regarding vehicle repairs, parking lot statuses, business operations, vehicle supplies, and/or any internal or external guest concerns.

4. Conducts all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism by providing an enthusiastic and authentic time-based greeting, displaying professional non-verbal communication, showing genuine interest, using the guest’s name, anticipating guest needs, and conveying a sincere thank you and farewell.

5. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Education/Experience/Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Previous customer service experience desired. Minimum two (2) years driving experience required. Ability to operate vehicles with both manual and automatic transmissions preferred. Basic vehicle maintenance experience preferred. Certificates/Licenses/Registrations At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license. A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the enterprise’s insurance carrier. Have or obtain a California Commercial Driver’s License, Class C or higher, with a passenger endorsement.
