Reporting to the Learning and Development Superintendent, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training, assessments, and mentorship to employees operating or maintaining Rigging equipment on site, as well as to students in the apprenticeship program.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Co-ordinates first aid training activities for employees of the Mining Company.
• Plans out training timetables based on assigned syllabus for particular target groups at different levels of First Aid courses.
• Maintains systematic and detailed First Aid training records for all employees.
• Ensuring adequate availability and timely acquisition of all first aid materials /equipment in order to ensure that the section and all departments are supplied with adequate stocks for continuous smooth operations.
• Plans, organizes and hosts annual Inter–Departmental First Aid competitions (IDFAC) and prepares teams to participate at Intercompany first aid (ICFAC) competitions.
• Provide training and coaching for departmental representative team members participating in the Inter Departmental First Aid Competition and prepares the IDFAC winning team for Inter Company First Aid competition.
• Compiles monthly, quarterly and Annual Reports on First Aid training, Facility compliance and submits them to Superiors and Authorities, Secretariat and other relevant Authorities or as and when this data is required.
• Maintains registers showing daily learners’ attendance and updates all records showing validity of the First aid certificates at the individual Company or Company mine site database either manual or electronic.
• Ensures proper maintenance of First Aid Equipment and ensures cleanliness of surroundings.
• Conducts internal periodical audits of First Aid facilities and emergency preparedness at the organization.
• Shall be the organization’s representative to the CMZCFA Council Technical Committee (CTC) and shall attend Council activities as requested.
• May be called upon to adjudicate or represent the Council for First Aid at the Inter departmental first Aid competition of another Mining Company.
• Conduct external First Aid Training in another organization on behalf of the CMZCFA.
• Participates in First Aid audits of First Aid facilities and emergency preparedness conducted by CMZCFA at all affiliated and non-affiliated organizations.
• May be eligible to serve as a Secretary General, Vice Secretary or Treasurer of the CMZCFA upon approval by the CTC and ratification at AGM.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
• Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate
• Must be in possession of a Gold Medal First Aid Certificate issued by the CMZCFA.
• Must be holder of the CMZCFA first aid instructor’s Class I certificate.
• Should have completed at least a diploma in education techniques/ methods course offered by a recognized training institution.
• Should have worked under a competent SFATO as full time first aid trainer or instructor to qualify for this role.
• Valid Driving License.
• Must be computer literate.
• Accredited with TEVETA.
• A diploma in Nursing or medical sciences will be an added advantage.
