Kleinfelder is seeking an accomplished and energetic Client Account Manager (CAM) to lead major transportation opportunities across Texas. The ideal candidate will build upon an established network to foster strong relationships with key transportation clients, including TxDOT, cities, counties, municipalities, and airports. They will collaborate with Kleinfelder’s local teams in Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and surrounding areas to develop client-focused pursuit and delivery teams that enable exceptional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive Sales: Target key clients, including TxDOT, municipalities, and airports with an emphasis on funding-ready projects.Client Solutions: Understand client business needs to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions that exceed expectations.Team Collaboration: Coordinate with project delivery and proposal teams to ensure clear communication of client requirements and differentiating strategies.Relationship Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and teaming partners to provide top-tier engineering, construction, and consulting services.Market Networking: Proactively engage with industry partners to identify market trends, future opportunities, and strategic growth paths.Matrixed Collaboration: Operate effectively in a matrixed environment, aligning business development efforts with operational teams across TX, Central Division, and national transportation while maintaining strong client communication.Desired Skills & Abilities:
Proven experience in business development, sustainable growth, and client relationship management (CRM) in TX transportation market.Strong leadership in strategy development and business performance improvement.Ability to manage pursuit teams, including technical professionals and proposal developers.Collaborative and adaptable in dynamic work environments with a client-focused mindset.Experience serving as a program or project manager for transportation clients in TX.Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint).Responsibilities and Competencies:
Implement proven business development principles to drive profitable growth and improve win rates.Actively participate in the Go/No-Go process for pursuits.Develop and produce marketing materials in collaboration with Marketing and Communications.Promote cross-selling of multidisciplinary services.Mentor new employees in business development best practices.Establish and monitor division goals, market plans, and budgets.Focus on strategic clients and teaming partners, building a $10 million annual portfolio within three years.
Minimum Requirements:
Residency: Texas-based professional.Experience: 15+ years in transportation infrastructure projects (e.g., highways, bridges, rail/transit, aviation) and 10+ years of direct interaction with Texas stakeholders TxDOT and municipalities.Management: 10 years of management experience preferred.Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field (required); Master’s degree or PMP certification (preferred).Licensing: Texas Professional Engineer (P.E.) license strongly preferred.Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the Texas transportation market, clients, regulatory requirements, project development processes, and funding initiatives.Move Forward with Kleinfelder Kleinfelder has been connecting great people to the best work since 1961.
