Senior Transportation Procurement Analyst

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Senior Transportation Procurement Analyst to manage procurement (transportation bid) events for a strategic customer.

In this role, you will oversee bid execution, analyze results, and drive procurement strategy while managing carrier relationships and performance. You’ll serve as the primary contact for project meetings, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution. Success requires expertise in procurement tools (Excel, Jaggaer ASO, etc.), data analysis, and carrier management.

Ideally, this is a hybrid work model with three days in the Chicago, IL, office and two days working from home.

Key Focus Areas:

Full truckload bids

Special procurement projects

Less-than-truckload (partnering with internal specialists)

Carrier management and performance improvement

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

Manage domestic truckload and mini-bids in partnership with the customer

Oversee LTL bids and project execution

Analyze bid results, guiding cost/savings strategies through iterative scenarios

Build and manage carrier relationships and performance

Manage customer and internal stakeholder expectations

Provide benchmarking and KPI insights

Lead project teams, securing resource commitments

Facilitate project meetings and ensure customer sign-off

Track project progress, document communications, and assess risks

Ensure quality and timely delivery of customer deliverables

Collaborate with sales and account management teams

Support process improvement and procurement methodologies

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

High school diploma or GED

Minimum 5 years of domestic (full truckload) transportation or transportation management experience

Minimum 2 years of procurement experience

Flexibility to work occasional nights/weekends

Ability to travel up to 5% (0-2 times per year)

Strongly Preferred:

Experience with bid/sourcing tools (Jaggaer ASO preferred)

Bachelor’s degree

Project management experience

Preferred:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite

Effective collaboration and influence across teams

Experience in negotiation, strategic planning, and process improvement (Six Sigma, CSCP)

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment

Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills

Experience working with leadership-level customers

Compensation Range

$71,800.00 - $149,200.00
