Senior Transportation Project Manager/Group Leader

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager/Group Leader for our growing Transportation team in Florida. This position can be located in Orlando or Tampa, Florida.

You will be responsible for the quality of civil engineering work performed, client service, utilization of staff, marketing, reputation of the office, contract management, billing collection, and project profitability for small to large Transportation projects. Role accountabilities:

Leading Project Teams: The candidate will be responsible for leading project teams to successfully complete task assignments related to highway projects. This involves overseeing and coordinating the work of the team members, ensuring that project objectives are met, and maintaining high-quality standards. Roadway Design: The candidate should have experience in preparing roadway designs using local (State, County, or City) or AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) standards. This includes knowledge of design principles, guidelines, and best practices in order to ensure the quality of the design work. Project Roles and Focus: The candidate will be involved in various aspects of transportation projects, including planning development, urban and rural roadway design, freeway and interchange design, rights of way coordination and management, and public safety. The emphasis should be on delivering high-quality results in these areas. Client Engagement and Project Pursuit: The candidate will have full engagement and responsibility for all aspects of project pursuit and development. This includes the ability to lead and manage all project phases, from initial opportunity identification to project completion. The candidate will develop project scopes and budgets, maintain client relationships, mentor and develop junior staff, and create project plans and schedules. Strategic Planning and Team Growth: The candidate will contribute to the strategic planning, development, and growth of the Florida Transportation team within Arcadis. This involves participating in the identification of opportunities, coordinating with the Infrastructure Client Development team, and capturing strategic projects. Collaboration and Coordination: The candidate will collaborate with other Arcadis offices and teams as needed to support project requirements. This may involve working on projects assigned to other offices or aiding other teams within the organization. Interpersonal and Client-Facing Skills: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are crucial for this role. The candidate should be able to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and stakeholders. Additionally, the candidate should be skilled in coordinating meetings, allocating resources, and delivering presentations. Adherence to Standards: The candidate is expected to adhere to Arcadis' practices, including quality and safety standards. This ensures that projects are executed in accordance with established guidelines and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

15+ years of progressive highway (FDOT) design experience, including 5+ years of PM experience on FDOT projects Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering Florida PE licensure

Key Skills and Attributes

Experience working in and leading large multi-disciplinary teams. Experience in Bentley software packages to engineer complex highway systems, with the ability to direct staff that is completing design within Microstation, InRoads, Geopak, or OpenRoads (3-D Design technology).

Preferred Qualifications

20+ years of progressive highway (FDOT) design experience, including 8+ years of PM experience on FDOT projects. Experience working on large FDOT projects. Design-Build PM experience Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
