Senior Trust Administrator

Pay Range: $87,090.00 - $116,307.00
Responsible for expert level administration of a significant group of sensitive accounts, including trusts, estates and agencies. Maintains the highest level of knowledge and expertise as a subject matter expert in the areas of trust and estate administration and all fiduciary matters. Fills in for Chief Trust Officer as needed and provides guidance and direction to junior officers. Develops cross-selling opportunities and Represents company in business activities and community related functions.
Education and Experience:
+ Four year college graduate or equivalent experience with strong computer literacy and financial experience
+ 8 years relevant administrative experience in a trust department, charitable or other financial services, organization, insurance company, or law firm preferred
+ Completion of career specific training such as Cannon Trust or New York Bankers Trust Schools to include coursework in estate administration, trust administration, and taxation
+ Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
Skills and Abilities:
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to research independently and reduce findings to writing.
+ Strong computer literacy to include Microsoft Office Suite and other proprietary industry software.
+ Excellent customer service skills; able to independently organize, coordinate, and outline agendas for client meetings that may include other professionals.
+ Ability to understand and interpret complex legal documents.
+ Significant working knowledge of personal income, fiduciary income and transfer taxation.
+ Strong mentoring and problem resolution skills.
Unique Job Characteristics and Requirements:
Client meetings are often held outside normal banking hours at various locations.
Tasks Performed:
+ 20% Client relationship management, responsible for coordinating services, building relationships with clients and their children, and functioning as the clients' trusted advisor. A primary fiduciary contact that delivers high quality client service and earns extended business from well established relationships and trusted interactions.
+ 20% Primarily responsible for the overall compliance of accounts/relationships in accordance with policies and procedures.
+ 20% Promote revenue growth through the enhancement of existing relationships and increased interaction and cross selling efforts with other bank partners. Share product knowledge and promote other wealth management products such as financial planning, insurance and retirement services.
+ 15% Independently understands and applies fundamentals of personal, fiduciary and transfer taxation, investments, and employee benefits as it relates to the administration of assigned accounts.
+ 10% Effective and efficient Estate Settlement. Administers complex and high profile estate administration from initial probate stages to final accounting and full distribution in accordance with a decedent's Last Will and Testament. Executes proper estate valuations on all assets and includes personal and real property sales or transfers, cost basis adjustments, income and estate death tax planning and tax filings. Maintains ongoing communications with client's family, charities, attorney general, tax authorities, and external professionals. Works closely with Portfolio Manager to ensure that there is sufficient cash for distributions, payments, administrative expenses, fees, and debts.
+ 5% Assist and support the Chief Trust Administrator with document reviews and approvals, communications, account updates, lead meetings as needed and advise other department personal on complex matters.
+ 5% Serves as mentor to and provides guidance to administrators in the resolution of issues and problems using acquired knowledge and experience.
+ 5% Other duties as assigned.
