Senior UAV Systems Specialist - Ground Control Station

With limited direction, this position participates with management and engineering to establish objectives, plans, and timelines for the development of comprehensive technical documents such as procedure manuals, operational specifications, training manuals, presentations, articles and related technical publications. Reviews and negotiates document specifications with customers and ensures final documents clearly and effectively communicate technical information and data. Reviews product systems, functional specifications and operations, and establishes safety requirements for assigned systems. Investigates and analyzes project requirements and complex operating problems and develops recommended solutions to meet company governmental safety and performance standards. Investigates and resolves problem areas and collaborates with engineering, operations and maintenance personnel to document technical solutions. Leads the development of and monitors the implementation of technical documentation policies, practices, and standards. Acts as a spokesperson on matters related to technical documentation. Provides direction and guidance to less experienced professional or technical staff. May make recommendations to management on short and long term planning.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform system level debugging of the Ground Control Stations (GCS) for GA-ASI UAV systems.As a subject Matter Expert, preform debugging and analysis of Analog and digital Audio-visual systems. Strong diagnostic skills are desired.Aid field service in determining root cause of field related issues.Develop new designs or modifications of existing systems as required to improve system operations.Work with other GCS team members to determine root cause and course of action for system issues.Work with other groups such as Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Program Management personnel to facilitate task completion.Oversee sustaining engineering tasks and work closely with manufacturing on the integration of new and existing GCS assemblies and sub- assemblies.Troubleshoot, analyze, and repair systems in assigned area by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.Work with CAD Designers and other engineering support organizations, produce documentation such as engineering drawings (mechanical assemblies, interconnects, cables), source control drawings, system specifications, and test procedures.Deliver technical presentations such as PDRs and CDRs.Brief change packages to internal and external Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), collaborating with program and customer personnel as necessary.Write reports and presentations to capture diagnostic findings and make issues clear to non-technical staff or customers.Interact with Program Management and customer personnel to present issue investigation results.We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.
