Shoot for the moon. **Job Summary:** The Senior Architect is a fully remote position and key leadership role within the engineering department, directly supporting the Principal Architect in developing and implementing architectural strategies for Lexus.com. This role is tasked with managing complex software engineering challenges and contributing to systems architecture design. The Senior Architect also acts as a mentor to junior staff, ensuring the continuous delivery of high-quality technical solutions that align with business objectives. **Key Responsibilities:** Architectural Design and Development: + Assist in the development of high-level architectural strategies, ensuring they integrate seamlessly with existing systems and business goals + Manage and solve complex architectural challenges, focusing on scalability, performance, and system integration + Contribute to the creation and maintenance of architectural documentation such as UML diagrams, API definitions, and database designs **Technical Leadership and Consultation:** + Act as a Subject Matter Expert in specific architectural areas, providing guidance and advice on best practices and innovative solutions + Participate in the architectural governance process, helping to define and refine architectural frameworks and standards + Collaborate with other departments to ensure technical solutions meet strategic business needs **Team and Project Management:** + Support the Principal Architect in leading and developing the engineering team + Mentor junior engineers and staff, providing training and development to enhance their professional skills + Oversee specific project modules or components, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to established standards **Quality and Standards Enforcement:** + Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards to ensure development practices meet internal and industry standards + Manage the technical aspects of code releases and merges, including documentation and adherence to release protocols + Ensure software solutions meet all operational, quality, and compliance requirements **Skills and Qualifications:** + Proven experience as a Senior Architect or in a similar role with a strong background in software architecture and engineering + In-depth knowledge of architectural methodologies, design patterns, and standards + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and complex projects + Strong mentorship and leadership skills with a focus on developing others + Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders + Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field + Professional certifications related to software architecture are advantageous
