Job DescriptionThe Senior Underwriter supports the Commercial Real Estate platform’s Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, and Credit partners to manage an assigned portfolio of customer relationships.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Underwriting new lending opportunitiesAssisting in the preparation and presentation of credit requests for Credit ApprovalOverseeing accurate and consistent cash flow modeling; quarterly trend analysesMonitoring reports and covenant tests in accordance with bank standardsAnalyzing financial data for Commercial Real Estate properties and SponsorsAnalyzing portfolio credit quality and conducting market researchPreparing comprehensive written analysesBasic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experienceSeven to ten years of commercial lending experiencePreferred Skills and Experience
Background in commercial real estate, economics, accounting, and/or finance. Ability to interpret financial information and market data and apply knowledge to commercial real estate lending and overall business environmentAbility to work independently performing financial analyses (CRE cash flow modeling; collateral valuation; covenant sensitivities; market research; Sponsor Analyses; Market Research) and significant understanding of relevant metrics for new requests, material modifications, and ongoing credit monitoring activitiesAbility to execute credit requests for existing clients, author credit analyses and collaborate with Relationship Managers and Credit Approvers within the Commercial Real Estate groupProactive identification and communication of key risks, mitigants and other potential issues at the project and portfolio levelExperience participating in the preparation and negotiation of term sheetsEffective verbal and written communication skills, including competent analytical and technical report writing skillsAbility to participate in client bank meetings when necessaryAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExperience using 3rd party data providers such as CoStar, Greenstreet, Moody’s, etcArgus experience strongly preferredHybrid/flexible schedule
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $120,700.00 - $142,000.00 - $156,200.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
