Senior Underwriter - Affordable Housing Job ID 198625 Posted 23-Dec-2024 Service line Advisory Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Capital Markets Location(s) Seattle - Washington - United States of America **About The Role:** Responsible for performing all underwriting and due diligence necessary for Multifamily Affordable Housing loan submissions to loan committee. Must assess key risks and mitigants and make informed recommendations to loan committee in conformance with CMC, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac credit standards and program requirements. **What You'll Do:** + Acts as primary liaison among loan producer, Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, legal counsel, and closing officer throughout the underwriting process. + Responsible for credit and real estate analysis, processing incoming exhibits and preparing final delivery underwriting packages. Preparation of Borrower credit analysis including determination of net worth, liquidity, overall financial strength and acceptability of proposed borrower structure. + Prepares narrative and underwriting packages on new loan requests and presents to loan committee. + Reviews underwriting due diligence information and integrates real estate information from market research reports and other third party sources. + Trains and supervises Underwriters and Underwriting Analysts. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance to coworkers. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. + Experience underwriting Targeted Affordable Housing loans with a Fannie Mae DUS Lender or Freddie Mac TAH Seller/Servicer is required. + Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required. Concentration in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate or other related subject preferred. Minimum five years’ experience underwriting multifamily loans. + Candidates should have outstanding work ethic, exceptional written communication, and analytical skills. They need to be diligent and able to work effectively with both team members and Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae in a fast-paced environment. + Strong organizational and presentation skills required. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills to conduct financial analysis. + Will be required to travel as needed. + NOTE: In addition to a resume, you must submit a cover letter outlining your interest in Multifamily Affordable Housing and the Senior Underwriter role and describing the relevance of your professional and academic background. The minimum salary for the Underwriting Affordable Housing Senior Manager position is $_ _107,500_ _annually and the maximum salary for the Underwriting Affordable Housing Senior Manager position is $175,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
