Western World has been providing commercial brokers with non-admitted insurance solutions for over a half century. Our experience in the contract bind property, casualty and garage segments combined with the capabilities of Lexington Insurance, enhances AIG’s ability to provide non-admitted solutions from Main Street to Wall Street. What you need to know:
Western World is looking for an experienced underwriter that is looking to work with a regional team. Responsibilities will include underwriting, maintaining and growing a book of business. You will help the team develop and maintain new and existing client/broker relationships. You will work the Northeast region and help grow the territory. There are opportunities for growth. This team has great business partners and solid relationships. You will handle a sizable book of business and will need to evaluate and prioritize submissions. Marketing and travel will be part of your duties as you will represent Western World and AIG at industry functions, conventions, and corporate events. As a senior underwriter, you will help assist in the training of support staff on the team and within the department. You will also assist with special projects and help with in-house education training.
What we’re looking for:
+ Mid-level Commercial Insurance Company, Agency or Brokerage experience.
+ 5+ years of underwriting experience, Company or MGA or both
+ Property and Casualty experience and Excess Liability experience a plus
+ Preference will be given to those with candidates with professional designations, particularly CPCU and ARM.
+ Technical underwriting skills including ability to analyze exposures, coverages and contract language; develop adequate pricing on new and renewal accounts.
+ Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing with agents, internal staff, and management.
+ Able to travel independently on company’s behalf to market our products and services.
+ Ability to collaborate with others and thrive within a team environment.
