About the Role:
Marsh is seeking experienced Upstream Energy Risk Engineers to join our dynamic Risk Engineering team in the Middle East. This client-facing role involves surveying upstream energy assets, delivering risk assessments, and producing loss estimates. You will also conduct training and benchmarking exercises while interacting with senior client teams across Risk Management, Operations, and Engineering functions. Effective communication at all organizational levels is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Engineering Surveys
Conduct site visits (typically 2–3 days) to evaluate upstream client facilities such as oil and gas exploration and production sites.
Engage with management teams and perform detailed site tours.
Prepare engineering reports that include:
Descriptions of site operations.
Analysis of Loss Prevention and Mitigation features.
Quality rankings with actionable recommendations.
Property damage estimations using bespoke modeling software.
Construction Risk Assessments
Evaluate upstream construction sites and review new projects for Marsh’s clients.
Market Support
Collaborate with the Broking team to place risks in international insurance markets.
Manage and develop risk management systems.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of upstream oil, gas, and petrochemical industry technologies.
Proven experience with risk-based decision-making in upstream operations.
Proficiency in IT tools like MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with technical simulation and risk assessment software is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Business Acumen:
Ability to align client goals with Marsh’s strategic solutions.
Knowledge of professional standards and best practices in upstream energy risk management.
Client Development:
Identify and grow new business opportunities.
Understand client strategic priorities and deliver tailored upstream risk management advice.
Present innovative solutions to prospective clients and support renewal/placement strategies.
Maintain strong client relationships as the primary contact for service needs.
