The Samsung Mobile UX team seeks a highly motivated Senior UX Lead with strong project management skills. The candidate will lead UX for one of Samsung’s major clients in the USA. The candidate should possess comprehensive knowledge of the design cycle, from research and requirements gathering to design iteration, validation, and QA. In the role, the candidate will own the UX design aspect of a product development process. They will review and analyze the latest Samsung UX, deliver UX feedback with alternative designs to Samsung designers, and lead communications with carriers in the states and Samsung teams based in South Korea. In addition, they will be responsible for tracking, managing, and resolving any UX-related issues raised during the lifecycle of the product.
The candidate should possess an eye for good UX design with an ability to spot issues and generate ideas for improvement. The candidate will maintain quality from a project execution perspective, with the ability to identify risks and provide tactical support wherever appropriate. They will need to be aware of a project’s schedule well-being and risks at all times, be able to manage meetings and anticipate roadblocks and update all stakeholders with a project’s status. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively across multiple divisions and teams.
Communicate the OneUI UX platform with carriers, gather feedback, and work closely with the designer in South Korea to enhance the Samsung device experience.Conduct and lead design research and propose new concepts with mockupsReview and analyze UX in early phases of development and deliver feedback with design alternatives.Ensure the UI development results meet market (consumer) demand, technical specifications, and carrier requirements.Communicate and cooperate with counterparts from internal teams such as product design research, engineering, and marketing, as well as external partners such as telecommunication operators and external consultants.Conduct group usability studies and document results and analysis of the studies. Analyze UX of competing mobile devices and market trends in mobile UX.Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of industry experience in interface/interaction design of mobile devices required.A master's degree in Human Factors, Human-computer interactions, Interaction Design, Usability Engineering, Computer Science, Psychology, or Information Technology is preferred.Manage 2+ direct reports and coach themExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Comfortable with ambiguity and candid, respectful debatesDeep knowledge of application architecture basic concepts, software design process, and UI/UX design deliverables.Working knowledge of usability testingHighly skilled in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word.)Strong time and project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.Experience working with cross-functional project teams reporting to multiple stakeholders.Experience overseeing multiple projects within interdisciplinary teams and proven experience driving deliverables within a multi-location team.Experience in designing Mobile applications and involvement from research to delivering design artifactsDesign and research experience is required.Knowledge/experience working with design and communication tools, such as Adobe, Sketch, or other prototyping tools, is preferred.#LI-RL1

The salary range for this role is expected to be between $119,000 and $125,000. Actual pay will be determined by considering relevant skills and experience and comparing them to other employees in the role.
