We are actively seeking a motivated Senior VAVE (Value Analysis Value Engineering) Engineer (Mechanics) to join our agile Life Science - Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry R&D department. In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your experience and expertise to improve cost efficiency through the changes and innovations of manufacturing processes at our suppliers for mechanical assemblies for mass spectrometers. You will participate in should cost analysis and work closely with R&D teams as well as division level functions to drive strategic value engineering projects for existing and future products in collaboration with our suppliers.

A day in the Life:

You will analyze the cost of existing products, identify savings opportunities and drive the implementation and execution of the technical aspects of strategic sourcing projects and initiatives. You will work alongside highly motivated, multinational and interdisciplinary teams from R&D, supply base, manufacturing engineering and quality functions to align capabilities with technical requirements. . The goal will be to maximize the cost efficiency while the quality and performance is kept the same or even improved.

You will work closely with sourcing teams and suppliers to identify opportunities to remove cost from mechanical assemblies and complex electro/mechanical designs.  Once opportunities are identified, this role will oversee the technical development of the design and partner with the sourcing team to develop qualified suppliers.  In addition, this role will lead value engineering initiatives to drive best–in-class supplier cost improvement.

Communication and cooperation with current and future suppliers, assisting in their qualification process will be part of daily activities.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will also be involved in Engineering Change Orders and Quality Control during product commercialization phase. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be essential in ensuring the success of our products.

Keys to Success:

University degree in mechanical engineering, or related fields.3+ years of professional experience in the design of mechanical parts and assembliesProven Experience in production and assembly processes of complex mechanical assemblies and in optimizing manufacturing processes regarding product cost optimizationProven experience in 3-D modeling, SolidWorks preferredStrong mechanical engineering background with in-depth knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, and materials.Experience in ‘should cost’ analysis of mechanical components and assemblies.Embrace a growth mindset, demonstrating a willingness to learn, adapt, and continuously improve to drive innovation and success in production processesEffective open collaboration and communication with diverse teams and leadership.Very good written and oral communication skills in English language.Good knowledge of Windows and Office programs.
