As part of the Senior Leadership Team reporting to the CEO, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for providing the overall direction and leadership for the Information Technology strategy and function supporting the PacificSource family of companies.

The CIO will lead technology strategy and transformation which includes alignment to business objectives, driving innovation and ensuring the effective implementation of technology solutions to enhance efficiency, productivity and competitiveness. This position requires collaboration and partnership with key stakeholders to understand their technology needs and priorities while providing strategic guidance on technology solutions, investments, and security.

Enterprise systems/architecture/business processes/strategy

Provides visionary leadership to align technology investments and usage with current and future business objectives while also influencing business objectives to effectively leverage technology for strategic advantage.  Leads efforts to modernize and streamline technology platforms to enhance performance and reduce costsEnsures PacificSource implements policies and procedures to ensure company’s use of technology is compliant with all standards, regulations and policies/procedures.Develops operational, financial outcome and risk management measures to monitor department/enterprise effectiveness in its use of technology and ensure continuous improvementEnsures the reliability, security, and scalability of IT systems, applications, hardware, networks, and infrastructureEnsures the successful implementation of large-scale transformational technologiesOptimize support services to ensure high level user satisfaction, efficient issue resolution, and sound stewardship of human and financial resourcesLeads the development of multiyear technology roadmaps and associated capital/resource planning to help the Company achieve its strategic objectives

Information security

Develop and implement robust data security and cybersecurity strategies, governance and architecture to protect against threats and ensure data privacy and securityEnsure Company has effective incident response plans/activities to ensure timely investigations and ongoing remediation as necessaryOversee risk management practices, including disaster recovery and business continuity planningEstablishes and enforces IT policies to mitigate risks and ensure data integrity and confidentiality

Domain expertise and leadership

Builds and maintains effective relationships with key technology vendors, partners and service providers, ensuring effective procurement, implementation, and operations of technology solutionsMaintains current knowledge of best practices, business and technological innovations, and emerging capabilities that can support novel approaches to creating value for customers and employees (e.g. Artificial Intelligence)Lead and mentor the IT team of professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaborationDemonstrate competence in managing a predominantly remote workforce by building strong virtual teams, ensuring effective communication, and utilizing collaboration tools to maintain team engagement and productivityIdentify talent needs, develop succession plans, and ensure the professional growth of the IT team

Supporting Responsibilities:

Meet department and company performance and attendance expectations.Follow the PacificSource privacy policy and HIPAA laws and regulations concerning confidentiality and security of protected health information.Perform other duties as assigned.

SUCCESS PROFILE

Work Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of Information Technology, including supervisory and management experience and demonstrated leadership at the executive level. Healthcare experience preferred.

Education, Certificates, Licenses: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field. Masters degree in one of these fields or Business Administration preferred.

Knowledge: In-depth understanding of IT systems, architecture, cybersecurity, cloud computing, emerging technology and best practices. Ability to align IT initiatives with business objectives through transformational change management. Knowledge of relevant standards, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance. In-depth knowledge of operational, financial, and risk management measures, data privacy, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning. Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and partners. Knowledge of business and technological innovations, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning. Experience leading remote teams, effective communication, team engagement, talent management, and succession planning.
