Senior Vice President, Pricing & Procurement

Responsible for overseeing the Purchasing / Procurement area in a sub-part of the overall organization (e.g., Group, Region, Division, Country) or may be one of several executives overseeing the function at the Corporate level. Responsible for the development of the purchasing/procurement/sourcing policy and negotiating and contracting for effective, Corporate-wide purchasing of raw material, equipment, supplies, and services to maximize cost efficiencies, price leverage and quality.

Job Summary

The Senior Vice President, Procurement and Pricing will employ industry leading sourcing strategies and develop sustainable supplier relationships to deliver business growth and procurement gains to achieve NAPA strategic priorities. The role leads a high functioning team focused on the development of pricing programs for the US NAPA business. The Senior Vice President, Procurement and Pricing will help lead a culture of transformation by building internal partnerships, as well as external partnerships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring NAPA maximizes its return on assets and achieve strategic business objectives. The Senior Vice President will be empowered to design and enforce pricing policy with the support of senior leadership.

Responsibilities

Lead NAPA procurement and bidding process from contract negotiations, program implementation, sourcing pipelines, contracts development, agreements, terms, and conditions.Through cross functional partnership with Sales, Merchandising, Operations, and Finance, develop and execute plans that drive profitable sales growth across Wholesale distribution to independently owned NAPA stores, Commercial/Retail sales out of company owned locations, and Commercial/Retail sales out of independently owned NAPA stores.Identifies critical success factors to ensure efficient and effective supplier sourcing and contract functions meet business stakeholder requirements.Develops methods to track companywide spending and cost savings through various purchase initiatives.Minimize purchasing life cycle and acquisition costs to ensure NAPA maximizes its return on assets.Lead a transparent and fair Request for Proposal (RFP) process and leverage global sourcing efforts; manage global supplier relationships and term improvements.Maintain and drive procurement annual performance plans and reductions; leverage buying strategies.Collaborate with Company legal team in contract review and negotiations; deliver robust commercial agreements.Build collaboration on both internally and externally around shared goals and shared success.Define, develop and implement overall pricing toolkit, methodologies and strategy, along with annual increase strategies.Establish price strategy and targets for new accounts; support major account managers in more accurately pricing new customers.Manage and refine clear discounting approaches and guidelines.Review and adjust target prices and discounting levels for national contracts.Foster and lead a culture of price testing and learning approaches.Develop relevant analysis, reports, and recommendations for various stakeholders, including finance, sales, marketing, field, and executive leadership.Build and update perspective on key pricing trends and opportunities.Acts as change agent to identify barriers and lead other through successful transformation.

Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, marketing, business administration or equivalent experience.12 - 15 years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain experience in large, complex organizations.Experience crafting and presenting/communicating complex strategic, analytical, and financial initiatives to all levels of an organization.Demonstrated experience leading strategic change initiatives and influencing others through ambiguity in a complex, fast-moving environment.Expertise in contract management and supplier negotiation.Demonstrates Business Acumen with focus on ability to interpret financial information and understand the financial impact of decisions made; Analytical, cost control and budgeting experience.Management experience, with a proven track record of positive results with strong follow-through.Knowledge of key retail/wholesale functions, including merchandising, operations, marketing, financial operations and reporting.  Quantitative marketing experience is preferred.Adept at leading and working with cross-functional teams and will possess a credible understanding of each functional area and how pricing strategies impact them.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree (M.B.A.), or equivalent experience.Minimum of 15 years of experience in a retail/wholesale environment or in a consulting capacity; a minimum of five years of experience in pricing is required.Knowledge and demonstrated expertise in global sourcing, purchasing in the automotive or retail, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) environments.

Office / Sedentary Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
