National Practice
The HUB ProEx (Professional & Executive Risk) Practice includes professional and executive liability specialists who advise on how to confidently navigate an ever-changing landscape and deliver comprehensive solutions to protect your organization’s people, reputation, and assets. Using a unique combination of consulting, analytics and litigation support, HUB ProEx specialists help improve your risk and foster better risk financing decisions. The ProEx Practice also delivers a superior client experience that ensures you will be supported by specialists with deep expertise in complex risk management and insurance solutions.
Our ProEx Claims & Legal Risks Group provides a multitude of services from pre-claim policy wording review to successful claim recovery and is staffed by attorneys who specialize in ProEx coverages.
Position Summary
Working within the ProEx Claims & Legal Risks Group in a client-facing role, the successful candidate will apply their experience in providing interpretation of policy language, coverage analysis, advocacy, coverage and dispute resolution, act as liaison between clients, adjusters, lawyers and insurance companies, claims management and other related client services. A successful candidate will have experience handling professional and executive liability claims. The ProEx Claims & Legal Risks Group’s mandate is to deliver claims consulting services to clients, and advocate for our clients in resolving any issues relating to their loss, i.e., coverage disputes, policy interpretation, settlement disputes, etc.
Responsibilities
Claims advocate and facilitator on behalf of clientConsultation with clients on claim issues involving Directors & Officers, Errors & Omissions, Employment Practices, and Fiduciary coveragesReview and recommend solutions to coverage, quantum and claim handling management issuesNegotiate with insurers, adjusters and lawyers to expedite and obtain fair settlement of claimsParticipate in sales presentations to prospective clientsAssist the client in preparing special claims servicing instructions focusing on the client’s specific needs and taking into consideration the structure of their insurance programsReview and comment on policy wordings for account teamsReview of claims with clients/insurers/loss adjusters regularlyQualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctorate (JD) requiredHolds or commits to obtain appropriate provincial license within probationary periodKnowledge and/or experience with professional and management liability lines of insurance coverage with detailed understanding of the following coverages: Directors & Officers, Errors & Omissions, Employment Practices, and Fiduciary LiabilityPrefer this experience in the financial institutions and private equity industriesPossesses excellent knowledge of coverage and analytical skills in policy interpretationAware of relevant insurance legislation and major insurance-related court decisionsPrior experience in claims consultation with larger risk accountsStrong communication skills - both verbal & written, as well as effective time management and organizational practicesResults-oriented with strong client service emphasis and focusExcellent interpersonal and strong negotiating skillsJOIN OUR TEAM
