Senior Vice President of Health Initiatives
Overview Leading a high performing team in the provision of services. The Senior Vice President oversees a significant portfolio of programs, ensuring quality and efficacy. Responsible for financial viability the SVP is also responsible for new program development. The CPO/EVP for Community and Residential Services oversees the following services: Health and Behavioral Health Services and Children’s Health Homes/Care Management. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following: + Overall responsibility for the operations and efficacy of constituent program areas ensuring person-centered, ethical, financially viable, and highest quality service delivery. + Working closely with the EVP and organization leadership, play a key role in achievement of strategic objectives. Responsible and accountable for establishing current and long-range goals, plans and policies for program areas. + Effectively conceptualize, develop, grow and manage the portfolio of services. Leverage program strengths to take advantage of new opportunities or to address organizational challenges. Implement new initiatives. + Dispenses advice, guidance, and authority to Vice Presidents and Directors as they carry out daily operations and new initiatives. + Collaborate with support departments within the organizations including Finance, Human Resources, Performance, Evaluation and Measurement, General Counsel’s office, Institutional Advancement, Program Development, Information Technology, and other program areas in order to maintain daily operations and advance programs. + Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with government contractors, other funders, and oversight organizations. Master the intricacies of the appropriate regulations. + Actively explore new contract opportunities that are mission consistent. + As a member of the Cabinet, set overall policy and direction for organization and ensure program operations are consistent with Rising Ground’s mission, vision, values and policies. + Elevate the organization’s profile through external communications, and representation at key events, with community members and leaders as well as with government, contracting and oversight bodies, and by serving on advisory boards, relevant committees, and task forces. + Identify potential leaders and through an individual development plan, (including on-the-job stretch opportunities, coaching/mentoring and formal training), lay out a path for their growth as well as increased responsibility within the organization. + Keep abreast and maintain knowledge of current, developing trends, research and best practice models and apply this knowledge to organization’s work. + Other responsibilities and duties as they arise or are required in order to advance the organization. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of program divisions. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and hiring employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Identify and provide opportunities for professional growth and development. Qualifications Competencies, Qualifications, and Experience + Master’s degree or equivalent, plus seven to ten-years’ experience managing high-performing teams in a multi-site, multi-service human services organization Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. + Comprehensive working knowledge of program planning, regulations, requirements, budgets, and best practices with relevant expertise in service areas. + Comprehensive and working knowledge of New York State Child Welfare regulations and Medicaid Managed Care contracting, billing and reimbursement. + Remarkable problem-solving and ability to innovate. + Strategic thinker. + Exceptional interpersonal skills including capacity to motivate, inspire, guide, as well as support development of teams. + Strong financial, evaluation and analytical skills + Excellent organizational skills, commitment to accuracy and attention to detail. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Strong emotional intelligence. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with tact/diplomacy.
