Overview

 

The Senior Video Conferencing Engineer is responsible for the leading the planning, design, configuration, implementation, testing and transition to steady state support of Video Conferencing solution supported by infrastructure such as; network, telecommunication, server, storage or software across the enterprise. They will partner with peer engineering teams on best practices, process, standards, and configuration management. The Senior Engineer evaluates vendor supplied hardware, components and software packages for fit and performance and makes recommendations to IT management. This individual modifies and/or debugs vendor-supplied utilities and packages. The Senior Engineer maintains technical documentation for Video Conferencing systems and platform (Zoom) and associated technologies that support the implementation. The Senior Engineer diagnoses isolates and debugs hardware and software problems and performs problem resolution. The role is responsible for delivering solutions that are stable, secure, scalable and cost effective, as well providing escalation support to the administrators.

Primary Responsibilities

 

Participate in on call rotation; 25% travel for Implementations, trade shows, and training events Coaches others Research, evaluate and recommend network-related software and hardware products and services Perform capacity and resource planning for Video Conferencing systems Assess risks and perform contingency planning Provide input to supplier management team to help establish the Video Conferencing related vendor service agreements Design, install, configure, and maintain Video Conferencing systems (hardware and software) Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues (tier two support) Provide input to supplier management team to help manage Video Conferencing related vendor service level agreements Stay up-to-date on Video Conferencing platforms and hardware related technologies Serve as a technical resource for infrastructure initiatives that require Video Conferencing expertise Preferred Qualifications

 

7+ years of experience in Infrastructure engineering role as it relates to the hardware and software components that align to technologies supported at Southern Glazers Provide accurate and timely updates to work tickets, incidents, and outages ITIL Foundation certified Specialized Skills and Technologies Advanced knowledge in Video Conferencing solution and hardware including collaboration platforms, specifically Zoom  Microsoft landscape and software applications Advanced knowledge in desktop security audit enterprise systems support / deployment / management using an endpoint management solution Working knowledge and understand SGWS application portfolio and how the different systems contribute to daily business operations Advanced understanding and awareness of the ITIL Problem management process and procedures Advanced knowledge and experience with components of IT infrastructure including Video Conference hardware, remote support tools, end user hardware, and wireless devices Ability to support audio and video conferences over Zoom, MS Teams and other platforms Experience with Service Desk Ticketing software, SMB Network Design and Implementation Server with Domain Controller Deployment Strong Background in End User Support Minimum Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s or Technical degree in related field or equivalent experience 7+ years of work experience in an Infrastructure or technical function Excellent verbal / written communication skills, strong attention to detail  Change Agent with Managerial Courage  Delivers Results  Holistic Thinking Strategic mindset Teamwork & Collaboration  Effective communication Ability to create, read, analyze, and interpret technical diagrams and written procedures  Ability to arrange processes or data in order of patterns specific to policies, processes, or system requirements  Ability to analyze and solve problems, think outside of the box and grasp technical concepts  Ability to combine information or data to find relationships among seemingly unrelated events  Expert knowledge in Video Conferencing environments and other infrastructure technologies that match SGWS’s infrastructure landscape Experience with design, implementation, configuration, tuning and optimization of technologies within SGWS’s landscape Must possess good problem-solving skills Understanding of hardware and software dependencies Coach, mentor and develop others The ability to translate business requirements to technical requirements Good verbal/written communication skills Strong attention to detail Strong team player who can work across multiple functional areas and disciplines Capability to understand SGWS’ application portfolio as well as how the different systems contribute to daily business operations Familiarity with ITIL concepts Agile Delivery Values
