Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage virtualization solutions, focusing on VMware vCenter and Horizon View, to enhance INR's operational capabilities and support mission objectives.Administer and optimize INR's SAN infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and efficient data storage management.Lead virtual desktop infrastructure initiatives, including the deployment and maintenance of zero client hardware, to provide secure and reliable access to INR's network resources.Develop and execute strategies for virtualization and storage consolidation to improve system efficiency and reduce operational costs.Coordinate with IT security teams to ensure virtualization and SAN solutions comply with INR's cybersecurity requirements and industry best practices.Conduct regular system backups and disaster recovery operations, ensuring the integrity and availability of virtualized environments and stored data.Manage the full lifecycle of virtual infrastructure projects, from planning and design to implementation and ongoing support.Provide technical expertise and guidance on virtualization technologies and SAN management to INR staff and other key personnel.Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to virtual environments and storage systems, minimizing downtime and service disruptions.Stay current with emerging virtualization and SAN trends, technologies, and best practices to continually enhance INR's IT infrastructure.Document virtualization and SAN architectures, configurations, and procedures to ensure effective knowledge transfer and operational continuity.Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree – Information or Computer Systems a plusMust be a subject matter expert (SME) in VMware vCenter, Horizon View, Dell VXRail, Storage Area Network Configuration and recommendations, Raid Configurations, Virtual Desktop Environments, and Virtual Image Creation/Optimization.Expertise in VMware infrastructure, including vCenter and Horizon View, as well as experience with other virtualization platforms.Proficiency in managing enterprise-level SANs, with a deep understanding of storage technologies, data management, and disaster recovery principles.Extensive experience in virtualization and SAN engineering, preferably within a secure government or intelligence community environment.Experience handling multiple projects at onceExperience taking over management of projects at different levels of completionRelevant certifications such as DoD Directive 8570 compliance or equivalent industry-recognized credentialsRelevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP), or equivalent industry-recognized credentials.Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a TS/SCI security clearanceMust be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment

Networking Certifications a plusCertified Information Security Manager (CISM) a plusProject Management Professional preferredGood working skills in Remedy trouble ticketing and asset management systemPrevious working experience at DoS is desirable, but not required
