About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineer to join our dynamic Compute team in charge of virtualization technology. As a Senior VMware Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our VMware Platform.
You will work with different teams throughout the organization to assist in the development, deployment, and operations of our applications, services, and infrastructure. You are motivated, take initiative, and enjoy being responsible for your work. You can work independently, prioritize tasks, and move projects forward with minimal supervision. Your proactive approach allows you to find opportunities for improvement, suggest creative solutions, and take action to implement them.

Key responsibilities
Collaborate with the Product Owner and Squad members to craft, develop, and maintain a scalable, secure, and highly available VMware Platform using standard methodologies and industry-standard processes.Installation, configuration, and operation of the VMware toolsConfiguration and testing of physical and virtual networking solutionPerformance and functional integration testing with follow-up defect resolutionDevelop and maintain automation for the deployment, configuration and ongoing management of the VMware PlatformAnalyze system performance and make recommendations for improvementsTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure, deployment, security and performanceEnsure the VMware Platform adheres to security and compliance standardsImplement and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure high availability and performance of the VMware PlatformDocument platform architecture, processes, and proceduresImplement and maintain relevant mechanisms related to access controls, security policies and encryption mechanismsParticipate in meetings and Agile / Scrum ceremoniesParticipate in on-call rotationCollaborate with development, operations, and other collaborators to provide technical expertise and supportTechnical skills and competencies

The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Virginia is $92,120.00 to $171,080.00 USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
