Job Title Senior Voice Architect Created 16-Sep-2024 Department SRE Revised Job Summary As a Senior Voice Architect, you will be a hands-on lead, mentoring and guiding a team of voice engineers and SRE team members. You will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our voice infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability. Your expertise in cloud technologies and deep understanding of voice and messaging carrier infrastructure will be instrumental in driving innovation and delivering exceptional voice services. Key Duties & Responsibilities 1 Mentorship: Provide strategic mentorship to a team of voice engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. 2 Voice Infrastructure Design and Optimization: Architect, design, and optimize voice solutions, call routing systems, and carrier infrastructure to meet evolving business needs. 3 Cloud Technology Expertise: Leverage your expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) to design scalable, cost-effective, and resilient voice solutions. 4 Carrier Infrastructure Mastery: Demonstrate a deep understanding of voice and messaging carrier infrastructure, including fault identification, automation, and optimization techniques. 5 Technology Evaluation and Adoption: Evaluate and recommend new voice technologies and solutions to enhance our capabilities and stay ahead of industry trends. 6 Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams within the organization to ensure seamless integration of voice services. 7 Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize voice network performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure optimal user experience. 8 Disaster Recovery and Resilience: Develop and implement comprehensive disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity and minimize downtime in case of failures. 9 Innovation and Automation: Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and automation opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality. Qualifications/Skills/Abilities Minimum Requirements Formal Education Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience (type & duration) 8+ years of experience in voice engineering and architecture. Skills Strong knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP, SNMP, HTTPS, BGP, TLS etc.) and technologies (SBCs like Perimeta & Oracle, IVRs, SIPREC etc.), UCaaS. In-depth understanding of SIP response codes, header manipulations, and network architecture. Experience in SSL Certificate management & keen understanding of Network architecture Experience with cloud-based voice solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Proven ability to mentor and develop junior engineers. Good to have experience in Bash/Python Scripting Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication & inter-personal skills. Experience with specific voice technologies or platforms (e.g., WebRTC, IMS). Knowledge of network security best practices. Accreditation/certifications/licenses Good to have CCNA certificate Good to have RHCSA/RHCE certificate Certifications in cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and voice engineering.
